Two-time Earphones winner and two-time Audie nominee Tavia Gilbert has over 100 titles to her credit on Audible. Now, this talented narrator and producer looks to ACX to help her find more projects she is passionate about performing and producing.

Tavia Gilbert is a popular narrator and producer whose audiobook work consists primarily of production and freelance narration. More recently, she’s moved toward exclusively performing, but ultimately Gilbert hopes to be able to perform and produce books that are meaningful to her. Toward that end, Gilbert plans to incorporate a home studio within the next year, though she speaks highly of her current partnership with a recording studio that has allowed her to maintain more clients and produce a greater volume of work than would otherwise be possible. Until ACX, says Gilbert, there hadn’t been a way to match great authors and great books with great narrators with superb performance potential, at least on a wide scale. Now, ACX can help give savvy, entrepreneurial actors like Gilbert a platform on which to find great projects. Gilbert will be participating in ACX because it gives her the opportunity to produce projects and also helps match her with authors whose books she might not come across otherwise, or whose books might not otherwise be available to perform and produce. Rather than spending time finding the rights to a book, Gilbert can look on ACX to find a piece of extraordinary writing that’s already listed and available. “It’s so satisfying to find work I absolutely fall in love with,” says Gilbert, “so ACX is a wonderful opportunity.”

ACX also provides two payment options from which Gilbert can choose. She can accept a one-time upfront fee from a rightsholder, or be paid nothing up front in exchange for half of the royalties generated from sales of the audiobook. Gilbert is open to the idea of a royalty share, though she acknowledges it would depend on the project. For an established and award-winning narrator like Gilbert, the diverse financial opportunity presented by different kinds of work is just another reason why participation in ACX is a compelling idea.

Gilbert also plans to use the tools on ACX’s "Promote Yourself" section to support and maintain her brand, which is critical for professional narrators, for whom such a distinction is important in the market. And Gilbert is confident that given its strong commitment to celebrating the art and craft of superior voice acting, ACX will become “a huge force” among narrators, publishers and authors alike.
