Can I still make updates to the Kindle version of my book or will that impact the Whispersync for Voice and Immersion Reading features?

Metadata changes to your book will not impact the features (price, title, author, product description, etc.). Changes made inside your Kindle book may impact the Whispersync for Voice and Immersion Reading features. However, if you are alerted about formatting issues with your Kindle book, we recommend that you correct those issues. When you make these changes, your book will not by sync-able immediately. If it remains un-synced for more than 1 week, we suggest that you contact the ACX client support team to alert them. Some changes including margin size, font color, font size, background color, and minor punctuation updates may not impact the features.

I just swapped an audio file on my live, Whispersync for Voice-enabled audiobook. How will this impact my Whispersync for Voice eligibility?

Because you've made a change to your audiobook file, we will need to reprocess your title for Whispersync for Voice to ensure that the content still syncs properly. This reprocessing can take up to a week. However, if the changes to your audiobook are content-related and the resulting audio file no longer syncs well with the Kindle version of your book, your title may lose Whispersync for Voice eligibility.

I do not want Whispersync for Voice-enabled on my content. How can I prevent my titles from being enabled for Whispersync for Voice?

Whispersync for Voice is a feature Audible proudly offers to customers, and it cannot be disabled. Whispersync for Voice adds value to a customer's reading experience and raises awareness for an author's titles by linking the Audible edition to the Kindle edition.

My Kindle edition has a lot of front and/or back matter (ie. Table of contents, bibliography, dedication, etc). What is counted towards this sync rate?

When we process your audiobook for Whispersync for Voice, we're looking to match up the Kindle and audiobook content as closely as possible. Inevitably, there will be differences between the two versions, so we try to accommodate front and back matter as best we can. The syncing between the two formats should start with the first word after front matter (table of contents, dedication, etc.) and end with the last word of the last chapter.

My audiobook includes several lines of special characters in a foreign language (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, etc.) Will the inclusion of non-Latin characters in the print edition impact my Whispersync for Voice eligibility?

Currently, Whispersync for Voice only supports Latin characters. If we are unable to match the content between formats, the title will not be eligible for Whispersync for Voice.
