Children's Poetry - London Accent

Performance Notes
A gentle poem about childhood and loneliness, and finding a friend. Read in a deep, soft, London accent.

Strong, character voice, born and brought up in North London. My voice (to steal something from someone else) could be described as "gravel lined with velvet." I have 40 years experience in voice production in the advertising, film, radio, and TV industries, most recently using my own voice rather than producing others I go from generic London without a strong accent, through to Cockney and East End. I can cover some generic regional accents and am particularly fond of extreme Dickensian character voices, perfect for historical pieces where you want to give your work an edge of fun. I can also do an old-famous-classical-actor voice as shown in one of the samples. I am a storyteller at heart and hope to bring that to your production, whether that is fiction or non-fiction. My voice is mid to deep with a hint of smokiness (though I gave up smoking years back). When it warms up it gets a nice rumble. If you want a lot of rumble, get me to record when I am tired. I have my own recording facility with Neumann mics, a voice booth and recording/editing using Cubase Pro and iZoptope RX 6. My service will normally include full editing (I would not release any voice tracks un-edited!) and mastering ready for ACX upload. For more details, see the narrator section of my website. I am also an experienced composer working in many genres. Note: I do not do erotica (I would giggle in the wrong places), and I do not do anything that promotes illegal activities or pseudo-science.
My credits over nearly 40 years are a huge list, so here is just a flavour of those years time. Recent audiobook work: Aldair in Albion (Neal Barrett Jnr - famous Speculative fiction from the 70s) Aldair Master of Ships The Mad Emperor (Comedy) The Chained Immortal (Comedy) Lost in Tokyo (Memoir) The Last Volunteer by Steve Wetherell - Comedy Sci-Fi The Violin Man's Legacy by Seumas Gallacher - An edgy thriller. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - read in a deep, warm, London accent. Dirt - Fantasy Series currently in production (I am also the author). The Young of the Plains - audiobook on YouTube Old Stuff: Various commercials over the years as both a voice over and singer. Worked on three series of Sherlock Holmes plays for Radio with Roy Marsden and John Moffat. Directed and recorded an audiobook of Wuthering Heights with Jenny Agutter, Recorded and directed Inspector Morse short stories with the late, great Anton Rodgers. Recorded and directed poetry with Glenda Jackson. Recorded and produced thousands of commercials, working with the best voice actors in the UK. Produced hundreds of multi-language versions of both corporate and drama video/tv productions. Recorded and/or produced comedy recordings for radio with Barry Cryer, Ian Lavender, Tony Robinson, Graham Norton, Simon Callow, Isla Blair, Eleanor Bron, and many others. Worked as the Sound Designer on many productions. Animation recordings with Kate Winslett, Martin Landau, Rhys Ifans, Warwick Davis, Joss Ackland, and more...
