Performance Notes
I narrate the entire story. In this rare case, I set music behind for feeling. The Giving Tree is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Shel Silverstein. First published in 1964 by Harper & Row, it has become one of Silverstein's best known titles and has been translated into numerous languages. Despite the recognition that the book has received, it has been described as "one of the most divisive books in children’s literature."[1] The controversy concerns whether the relationship between the main characters (a boy and a tree) should be interpreted as positive (i.e., the tree gives the boy selfless love) or as negative (i.e., the boy and the tree have an abusive relationship)

I grew up in River Edge, NJ, and being close enough to Manhattan, I attended and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and took courses at HB Studios. Those years opened an incredible creative world for me. I studied great authors, drama, musical theater, I performed in Off Broadway theater, television and film spots, as well as community theater. I spent years mastering many forms of Art. I studied painting and Illustration at the NY School of Visual Arts, then received another degree in visual art from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I spent several years designing magazines on Madison Ave in NYC, before deciding to move to Florida permanently, to pursue a career narrating audio books. After studying with Sean Pratt, I found my calling. I Love to tell stories, and can play many characters. I am not opposed to RS work if it is a project, and subject matter I enjoy, and believe in.
