For more information about me, and to listen to more samples of my work, please check out my website: www.keithmccarthy.net My process: As a character actor and director with over 25 years of experience, I understand what it means to develop a character and tell a story. I begin by reading the book in its entirety and taking copious notes on characterization, tone, pace, etc. Then I research any pronunciations and accents that may be required. If it is a work of fiction with many characters and the publisher wants each character to have a distinctive voice, I record a track that includes a sample of each character's voice and share that with the author upon request. From there, I work with the publisher or author in whatever manner they prefer. Some send me notes on a chapter-by-chapter basis; others wait until the entire production is completed. When paid on a PFH basis, I often outsource my editing and mastering to Deyan Audio in Los Angeles, CA. They are the country's biggest independent audio production house and among the best in the business. I also consulted with Deyan in setting up my home studio to ensure my recordings have the same high-quality professional sound they achieve in their studios. I use a high-end microphone by Sennheiser. I am a have a Youtube channel that has over 13,000 subscribers, most of them fans of Young Adult and Middle-Grade Audiobooks. When I narrate books in those genres, I promote them on my channel.
