Bio - Gopi Krishna

Gender : Male
Accent : American-General American
Vocal Style : Informed
Performance Notes
Giving reads of biographical material is challenging. I'm not a 60-year man from India who experienced an extraordinary Kundalini Awakening. But I can put myself in the scene he paints and speak from a place where the material affects me.

I poured the shtick extra heavy for this travel ad. My experience in radio broadcasting is handy when I need to break out "the boomer." The audio leaps out at the listener without being abrasive or annoying.

Fall Foods - Quiz Narration Sample

Category : Kids
Language : English
Gender : Male
Accent : American-General American
Vocal Style : Authoritative
Performance Notes
The audio sample is taken from my narration of an e-learning quiz for 5th grade students. Students read the content then take the quiz. The key to narrating this type of material is to be neutral -- I know the answer and don't want to give it away through subtle changes in my voice!

Publishing is a love affair for me. Thirty years ago the romance ignited when I took my first gigs in newspaper journalism and radio broadcasting. The microphone and the page are my lover's ears and eyes.. Our passion sent me sailing through stints as a newspaper editor, reporter, author of four books, book development editor, and audiobook editor for a highly respected e-learning publisher. In that capacity I was part of a team that produced more than 50 audiobooks. Creating and publishing books is my calling, is what I'm saying. I call it a love affair. The term captures the personal dynamics I bring to the work, and tells you why I am here offering my services as a narrator and producer. I do it because I love it, and as Dr. Carl Jung says, when your work is also your love it's not work, it's doing what you love. Your book is your baby. That's a cliche, please forgive me for using it, but I know authors and our love for what we create. We are the parents of our creations. When you entrust me to create your audiobook you hand over your baby. I adopt it as my own, give it love and care, and hand it back with my wish for it to have a long, prosperous, and healthy life. Now that you know where I'm coming from, let's talk business. Here's what I offer: Narration: Hire me as your narrator, or trust me to find the perfect voice for the style and tone of your book. As an audiobook editor I work with top talent. As a narrator I use my voice like a musical instrument. I'm an amateur musician, the son of a professional musician, so when I say "musical instrument" I mean it. Engineering: My home studio is acoustically treated and the equipment is professional grade. The audio for my books is a treat for the ears. My history with audio recording stretches back to the 1980s...yeah, that long ago. Mastering: Passing the ACX quality check requires high-level audio mastering. I know all the ins and outs. If you want absolutely top level mastering, I will hire out. I know a guy. He's outstanding. Editing: I paid my dues in audiobook production as a script prepper and researcher and quality checker. I've also worked on the other end of the production process as a writer and editor. I'll put my knowledge and skills to good use for you. I specialize in nonfiction books about subjects such as holistic healing, dreams, psychology, energy work, yoga, and quantum field theory. My vision is to be the go-to producer for authors of books that take the left hand path. I welcome all authors though, and can produce audiobooks in any genre and about any subject. RATES: $160 - $220 per finished hour
