The opening of a strange and dark tale of holiday traditions that cross and feed the otherworldly. "The Worm of Poe," is a short work of holiday terror from the author John C. Foster.

I am a storyteller from a family of storytellers, a reader from a family of readers. Books, stories and music filled my childhood and set me on the path to a lifelong career. I'm trained as an actor, which gives me deep understanding of structure and voice, plot, character and dialogue. A background in music cues my ear to rhythm and musicality. And my career has been largely focused on new work and intricate language - I love working with writers and seem to have an affinity for it. I've voiced audiobooks for adults and kids, corporate and elearning programs, audio tours, and was even the Voice of God in one fun, irreverent short film. I live in Brooklyn with writer John C. Foster, our dog Coraline, and an apartment filled-to-bursting, floor-to-ceiling, corner-to-absolute-corner with books.

"An indispensable actor of exceptional power, nuance and range.” ~Brad Rosenstein, SF Bay Guardian I'm thrilled to have been recognized with a couple of awards, both for language heavy plays - Tom Stoppard's 'The Real Thing' and Charles Mee's 'Trojan Women: A Love Story'. I spent several years as a lead artist with Crowded Fire, an award-winning, nationally recognized San Francisco theatre company, and was even their 'Voiceographer' on a particularly beautiful piece. I've also received some ridiculously good press, for which I am profoundly grateful. Exceptionally generous critics have called my work “nuanced,” (EDGE NYC), “deep” (NY Cool), “fierce” (OnOffOff), “sharp and hilarious” (New Theatre Corps), “ever-versatile” (Backstage West), “excellent” (SF Bay Guardian), “magical” (Contra Costa Times), “inspired, touching and comic” (SF Chronicle), “mesmerizing” (Sacramento News & Review), “completely focused and faultless… hilarious” (Sacramento Press-Tribune), “[an actor with] a quality of inner light – rare, radiant and indefinable” (Ithaca Journal).
