I'm a New York actor with 20+ years experience on stage, in TV and in film. A graduate of The Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard's American Repertory Theater, I love language and story telling. Narrating audiobooks is my dream job; I'm a lucky so-and-so to get to do it. I believe in careful prepping and always strive to hear what the author heard, paying attention to the pacing on the page and to the motivations and personalities of the characters. Hard to say what genre is the most enjoyable but, having never read a sic-fi book in my life before my narrating career, doing so professionally has become my bread and butter and I love love love it. The action and often the wonder of science fiction is incredibly fun to bring to life. (I'm the voice of a few very popular series and these are especially fun to do.) Murder mysteries are great too and the more hard boiled the better. Some of my favorite books jobs have been non-fiction: "Surge" by Pete Mansoor (Col Petraeus' right hand man during the 2007 surge in Iraq); "Methland" by journalist Nick Reding, and "Disunion", The NY Times' compilation of essays on the Civil War.

2017 Audie Award Winner for "In Harm's Way. The Sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis and the Extraordinary Story of Its Survivors" by Doug Stanton "Mark Boyett's narration is terrific. He deftly conveys the town's efforts to deal with the problem and defines various key residents. Particularly strong are his portraits of town doctor Clay Hallburg, who personally observes the growth of the drug and the decline of the town, and prosecutor Nathan Lein, whose caseload is almost entirely meth based." (AudioFile) "Mark Boyett has a strong, young voice whose articulation, pace, and clarity will resonate inside a car, a hall, or your head. He easily and naturally shifts his voice from the narrator's point of view to the words of the many people chronicled in this book. A great range of emotions is expressed in The Good Soldiers, and Boyett adeptly inhabits these characters as he gives voice to the words they express. –David Chasey of Audible.com
