My training at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, and 40 years of work in Film, TV, Radio and Theatre and Voiceovers, since 1974...has been fundamental in preparing me for the specific skills required in a good audiobook narrator. I currently have forty completed professionally produced books on my page of the Audible site....but have recorded over 200 professional unabridged books...starting with The RNIB, from 1990, in London. I have had a lot of experience in Radio for The BBC, acting in over 200 plays and features, plus three years as the character Nigel Pargetter 1986-89 in The Archers, the worlds longest running radio soap, and then nine years as Dr David Boyce 1997-2007 in Westway, for The BBC World Service Drama. I am a former BBC Radio Drama Company Member, 1989-91. I have recorded every kind of voiceover: commercial, corporate, educational, tour-guides, in-house, ADR and character re-voicing for Films and TV, documentary narrations, soundalikes...etc.
Recently played Cornelius in Benedict Cumberbatch's Hamlet at The Barbican Theatre, London. I have played leading and important supporting roles in The Theatre around the UK and in London's West. End, I was The Warden in Christopher Nolan's Batman, The Dark Knight. Recently orked with Mark Rylance's company in Farinelli and The King in London's West End.
Nominated for as a best performer BAFTA, in 2013, for my narration on PC game Dear Esther. I was the NARRATOR in rePlays Symphony of Heroes, world-tour live concert of PC game music Audiofile's Golden Earphone award for Ost and Found by Brooke Davis Jun/Jul 2015
