Category : Science Fiction & Fantasy
Language : English
Gender : Male
Accent : British-General British

Performance Notes
A DIFFERENT FLESH by Alternate History guru Harry Turtledove posits a world in which no humans lived in the Americas; rather, when Europeans arrived, they discovered a sub-human species closer to homo erectus, whose population became colloquially known as "Sims". The novel takes us through different vignettes which illustrate how radically history would have changed thus. This particular sample begins with an encyclopedia entry, then delves into a fictional rendition of Samuel Pepys' 1661 diary, which recounts his daily activities, including purchasing 2 sims for home use. Later in the chapter, The Theory of Evolution will be formed 2 full centuries earlier than in our own history, owing to the sims' presence advancing the idea of biological science in revolutionary ways. Produced by Tantor Audio.

Our protagonist, Leo Craft, kills superheroes for a living. But in Leo's world, it's not all black and white, or good vs. evil. This clip highlights the comedic, snarky delivery of Leo's cynical and often amusing inner monologue.

About 170 titles available on Audible (some of these under a pseudonym). Have worked via ACX, Tantor, Recorded Books, Highbridge Audio, Gildan Media, Bee Audio, BlunderWoman Productions, and Spoken Realms. Classically trained in Acting at Boston University, I have been a professional New York City actor, singer, musician, and self-taught audio technician for over 20 years, performing in everything from Shakespeare to Musical Theatre to Opera, as well as Film and TV. I have always been a fan of classical literature, science fiction, travelogues, and many other styles of writing, perhaps rooted in my upbringing (my father Dennis Woodson was a Fulbright Scholar in English Lit. at Cambridge). I lived a portion of my childhood in the UK and the dialects stuck, so although I am American, my RP, Estuary, and even Scottish dialects are good enough that I've been engaged by UK Publishers and Authors for their works. These represent over half my audio projects, in fact. My stage career took me all over the USA and Europe, performing alongside such legends as Robert Goulet (in his last CAMELOT ever) and Debby Boone, as well as newer theater stars such as Robert Cuccioli, Susan Egan, and Gary Beach. A personal achievement for me was the conception and performance of a staged version of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's MAUD as a 2-person drama using the full text of Tennyson's epic poem, in which I performed 95% of the text. I also played the leading role of Vincent van Gogh in NYC's Wings Theatre's productions of the musical VINCENT. Self-contained home studio with professional Audio-Technica microphones. In the past, I used my studio to record my musical projects, but lately it has become my audiobook lair. :) When my workload grows heavy, I outsource my editing instead. I generally only accept projects that are PFH above Union Minimums-- I do sometimes accept Royalty Share, but only if ACX has attached a Stipend, or the Rights Holders have attached a small PFH stipend of their own. Personal best styles: Romance, Fiction, Travelogues, History, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Dramatic Readings. Dialects: American (various), English (Estuary, BBC, RP), Scottish
