A Mess of Twine

Category : Drama & Poetry
Language : English
Gender : Male
Accent : American-General American
Vocal Style : Resonant
Performance Notes
A personal essay I wrote for a class in 2019. Structurally, it's a bit messy, but that was intentional and in keeping with the piece's theme. I make a note about a "mission," which was a reference to the two years I spent as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints several years prior. This essay is extremely personal to me, and I'm very proud of the way it turned out.

I Wanted to be Dyed a Shade of You

Category : Drama & Poetry
Language : English
Gender : Male
Accent : American-General American
Vocal Style : Smooth
Performance Notes
A poem from Carrie Lowrance's Shadow of Soul. This poem has a great texture and flavor that made it delightful to perform. It beautifully encapsulates the fantasies of unrequited love.

Faded

Category : Drama & Poetry
Language : English
Gender : Male
Accent : American-General American
Vocal Style : Brooding
Performance Notes
A poem taken from Carrie Lowrance's Lithium Dreams and Melancholy Sunrise. I enjoyed the provocative word choices in this poem. I felt that it perfectly displayed my dark, brooding, yet smooth voice. Mrs. Lowrance was a treat to work with, and you can find the complete book on Audible.

Performance Notes
What One Can Invent, by Hans Christian Anderson. A short story about a young man who wants to be a poet, but fails to see beauty in the modern world.

I love telling stories! All throughout my life, people have told me, "you have a great voice!" In 2015, I decided to put those compliments to the test, and began my voice over journey. After gaining experience through classes and working on independent media projects, I've found my place here, reading your talented stories. I have tremendous admiration for the authors who put their work out there for the world to see, so I want to make sure I do my part by narrating to the best of my ability. I look forward to working alongside you, and making something special!
