Audiobook narration has been my full-time job, though I do plenty of other voice work. I've narrated and produced over 30 titles on ACX - all of the samples in my profile are from audiobooks I've had published. Please check them out! Recently, I was invited to be a part of the Graphic Audio roster of voice actors. www.graphicaudio.net My current recording setup consists of a Rode NT1 cardioid condenser microphone, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, a MacBook, and a sound-treated recording space. I can do most foreign accents reasonably well, many regional US accents (southern and midwestern in particular) and shine portraying teenage to young adult males, snooty/eccentric British men, strange, dwarf/gnome/goblin/fey types, and gender neutral/ambiguous characters. In general, my voice is best described as "youthful/young adult", but I'd also say off-the-wall, subdued, tragic, enthusiastic, treacherous, conniving, articulate, smooth, adaptive (and so on, and so on) qualify, as well. I excel at bringing a sense of realism and relatability to complex characters. I see myself coming into my own narrating fiction and, specifically, fantasy/science fiction novels. Spiritual texts, memoirs, and poetry are also in my wheelhouse. But none of this is as good an introduction as the samples on my profile or the links I've provided in the Credits section. Please check out some of the more recent work I've done to get an idea of the production standard I have in place.
I've narrated/produced over 30 titles on ACX, (and some off-site). In addition to audiobook narration, I have been cast in audio dramas, ESL training programs for children in South America, and more. 5 Star Audible Reviews~ One Hit Away, the 2020 winner of the Indies Today Book of the Year Award: Incredible, touching, authentic, inspiring.... This is by far one of the most authentic and well written memoirs I have ever read and/or heard; with the narrators voice & inflection perfectly matched to capture the insecure, not quite too jaded...with a touch of innate innocence, goodness,& sweetness.. Dark, Gritty and INSPIRING Honest and raw book about addiction and recovery. I'm a fellow heroin addict in recovery and this book really resonated with me. This book gives a look into the world of addiction, homelessness, and proves that recovery IS possible. While being dark in parts the author never loses his sense of humor and the story is overall one of love and hope. The narrator also did a great job portraying the desperation of heroin addiction. highly recommend to anyone in recovery, still struggling with addiction, or to anyone who loves an addict and wants to gain insight. Highly HIGHLY recommended! ...Reading this was like watching a movie in my head, it was that well-written. The Audible version is also superb. Good choice of a narrator - feeling and emotion emanates. I get chills listening to parts of this, even after having read the written version. A rare autobiography ..I love this book and think it is a must read for any addict and even a recovering addict as I quit June 17, 2013 and I thought I would never quit and I did I highly recommend this book as I said to anyone actually it’s a great book and has great narration. EXCELLENT LISTEN! I really enjoyed it! This book was a true eye opener! The narration was outstanding and kept me entertained! Loved it! Thank you Jordan for such a raw and honest account into some of the hardest years of your life. This book will change lives. No doubt. The Shrike & The Shadows: A grim retelling of Hans and Greta The Shrike and The Shadows is a dark and twisted take on the Hansel and Gretal fairytale. I love this retelling! The author delivered a fast paced thrill ride that left me on the edge of my seat. The narrator, Ryan Haugen, lent the perfect voice to the story as it leaped to life from my speakers. Feedback from Casting Call Club: Sound Mind Games on Jun 29 Received voice work RHNarrates provided us with high quality work, including great voice acting and good quality recordings. We even selected him to two different roles, since his acting was better than everyone else's, who applied to these roles (there were over 20). I would definitely recommend him; he is one of the best voice actors we have met. guslazz on Jun 04 Received voice work RH Narrates did a great job doing voice work for my EFL coursebook. I hope we can work together in the future. I definitely recommend this professional for any of your projects!
