Audiobook narration has been my full-time job for over a year now. In that time I've narrated and produced over 20 titles on ACX - all of the samples in my profile are from audiobooks I've had published. Please check them out! My current recording setup consists of a Shure SM7B cardioid dynamic microphone, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, and a Cloudlifter. I can do most foreign accents reasonably well, many regional US accents (southern and midwestern in particular) and shine portraying teenage to young adult males, snooty/eccentric British men, strange, dwarf/gnome/goblin/fey types, and gender neutral/ambiguous characters. In general, my voice is best described as "youthful/young adult", but I'd also say off-the-wall, subdued, tragic, enthusiastic, treacherous, conniving, articulate, smooth, adaptive (and so on, and so on) qualify, as well. I see myself coming in to my own narrating fiction and, specifically, fantasy/science fiction novels. I excel at bringing a sense of realism and relatability to complex characters. But none of this is as good an introduction as the samples on my profile or the links I've provided in the Credits section. Please check out some of the more recent work I've done to get an idea of the production standard I have in place.
I've narrated/produced 23 titles on ACX, (and some off-site). 5 Star Audible Reviews~ One Hit Away, the 2020 winner of the Indies Today Book of the Year Award: Dark, Gritty and INSPIRING Honest and raw book about addiction and recovery. I'm a fellow heroin addict in recovery and this book really resonated with me. This book gives a look into the world of addiction, homelessness, and proves that recovery IS possible. While being dark in parts the author never loses his sense of humor and the story is overall one of love and hope. The narrator also did a great job portraying the desperation of heroin addiction. highly recommend to anyone in recovery, still struggling with addiction, or to anyone who loves an addict and wants to gain insight. Outstanding From beginning to end I was in-tuned, as a wife of a current client at Oahu’s SITC I couldn’t wait to see what Jordan’s outcome, experience, and perspective of life had become. After completing this book I have learned a lot from it. I can now better understand and will trust the process of this program and the long journey to recovery. I look forward to the day I get to walk this life with the man I once fell in love with only this time, with the new transformation, outlook and lessons instilled upon him thanks to the saving grace of god and all the pe Highly HIGHLY recommended! ...Reading this was like watching a movie in my head, it was that well-written. The Audible version is also superb. Good choice of a narrator - feeling and emotion emanates. I get chills listening to parts of this, even after having read the written version. A rare autobiography ..I love this book and think it is a must read for any addict and even a recovering addict as I quit June 17, 2013 and I thought I would never quit and I did I highly recommend this book as I said to anyone actually it’s a great book and has great narration. EXCELLENT LISTEN! I really enjoyed it! This book was a true eye opener! The narration was outstanding and kept me entertained! Loved it! Thank you Jordan for such a raw and honest account into some of the hardest years of your life. This book will change lives. No doubt. Marquess Peak: Extreme babysitting gone wrong This was a really fun story and easy to listen to as well. Very much enjoyed the friendship between James and Aries as well as how sweet Darnell was. Narrator also did a great job. If fantasy, a little bit of modern day, and high stakes babysitting mixed together sounds interesting, you will enjoy this no doubt. The Shrike & The Shadows: A grim retelling of Hans and Greta The Shrike and The Shadows is a dark and twisted take on the Hansel and Gretal fairytale. I love this retelling! The author delivered a fast paced thrill ride that left me on the edge of my seat. The narrator, Ryan Haugen, lent the perfect voice to the story as it leaped to life from my speakers.
