Science Fiction Snippet. American Accent narration. Alien accent characters

I'm a Bibliophile Narrator with a penchant for character voices. Growing up, Jim Henson and Mel Blanc were a couple of my biggest heroes. My first experience reading for an audience was the book rendition of The Empire Strikes Back in my 8th grade speech class. I read the scene where Darth Vader reveals that he is in fact Luke's Father. I read it complete with a can to do Darth Vader's voice properly. When I met my wife in 2000, we started reading books aloud together and have since read everything from Harry Potter to Jane Eyre aloud together. As we started raising our children, this grew into a family ritual every night. My 6 kids each have a name from a book we love & we take turns picking what book I read. Timothy Zahn is one of our favorite contemporary authors & Charles Dickens is my favorite deceased author. Generally, I'm the one who reads because I "do the voices." I'm always trying out new dialects. I love reading Sci-fi because I can give different alien species and different humans very diverse accents including but not limited to British, Cockney, Australian, German, Russian, African, Southern US, South African, Indian, Eastern European and more. I've also experimented with augmenting my performances with props for echoes, placing objects in my mouth to create a less human sound, and so on. I love storytelling & I love making stories come alive. Some of my favorite books I've read aloud to my children include: The Lord of the Rings Timothy Zahn's Conquerors series The Chronicles of Narnia A Christmas Carol Jane Eyre Seven Years in Tibet The Lost Prince The Little Prince A Little Princess Curdie and the Princess Harry Potter And There Was Light by Jacques Lusseyran The Hero's Guide to Saving your Kingdom series I also performed a solo vocal part in "Agincourt Hymn" by Dan Bukvich, a piece for wind band, when I was in college. After the concert the composer complimented me on my performance. I have also sung and directed choirs & had voice lessons from Paul Harms, whose boss was once Placido Domingo.

"As always, Benjamin Fife gives us an absolutely phenomenal performance. His accents are near-perfect, his voices impeccable, and his sense of rhythm and pacing are second to none. There are few audiobook narrators in the same league as Benjamin." Reviewer Kevin Potter on Audible. Nominated for Audie 2020 - King's Warrior by Jenelle Leanne Schmidt Nominated for Realm Maker's Audiobook of the year 2020: King's Warrior by Jenelle Leanne Schmidt Kellynch: Dragon Persuasion by Maria Grace Listener Reviews “Has a range of accents and an amazing ability to give voice to each character so distinctly that I knew which character was talking immediately. Entertaining, enjoyable, worth the listen.” “Wonderfully talented. His voices for the characters are very well done and as described by the author. He has the beautiful English accent and similar handsome tones of Colin Firth so I could happily listen to him all day and night.” “Does a great job giving life to all these characters. He does the kid’s and adult’s (male and female) voices with appropriate expression. His style let me forget I was being read a story. “Normally, I’d save my comments regarding the narration till the end of my review but I have to bring it up now. Mr. Fife is purely amazing with the widest range of vocalizations I’ve heard in a long time and he truly breathes life into a story that’s already wonderful. His dragons are especially well done; when I first heard his interpretation of the tiny April, I was so taken with it—and her—that I had to pull off the side of the road and listen again without the distraction of driving. That wasn’t an anomaly as I soon discovered when other dragons spoke, each in a very distinctive voice. Even if I didn’t love this story, I would still have to listen to his rendition.” Author Endorsements “My narrator, Benjamin Fife, has been the absolute best person to work with on this project. He reads so well, and does ALL the voices, and OH. MY. SWEET. PUMPERNICKLE. DREAMS… he does the BEST DRAGON VOICES EVER!!!! I can’t wait for you to hear it. Seriously. But more than that, he’s been fabulously enthusiastic about this project. I’m completely spoiled now, I have to admit, because I don’t think I can ever work with another narrator who isn’t equally excited about my stories as he is.” - Jenelle Schmidt “Ben is my favorite narrator to work with. He goes above and beyond with a technical expertise in mixing sound that is unique among all the narrators I have partnered with. He has narrated my most successful series, a very difficult fantasy world with a mix of human and fantasy creature characters that poses unique challenges for a narrator. He has truly become the voice of the series. Neither I nor my readers can imagine anyone else narrating these complex and diverse characters. I highly recommend his work!” - Maria Grace “Ben Fife has narrated five books for me. The fact that I keep using him to narrate my books should say it all" C. Taylor
